I think we all feel that 2011 was the coolest, best and busiest year for us as a group so far. We´ve traveled around the world, we were the choir of the year in Sweden, finally finished our first album, met a lot of nice people, had a lot of concerts, launched our new website, made a lot of good friends… just to name a few things.
When I look back, I can´t believe all the things we managed to do within a period of only one year. I’m trying to remember what we did in the beginning of the year, but it feels almost too far away ;-)
I´ve been looking through our photo library (that has become enormous after this year, by the way), and I´ve picked out some goodies that I feel describe Vocado 2011 the best ;-) Enjoy!

Here we go again! Seems like each weekend we’re off doing something or another. And this is, upon further inspection, indeed the case. Today we find ourselves in Kungsör rehearsing for our only Christmas concert. That would be the one in Örebro on the 10th of December, in case anyone has missed it ;) Early morning coffee and song. A regular Saturday that is.

That’s right! We are on a short tour in the middle of the week and we’re having a great time. After all the travelling we’ve done lately it always feels a bit weird singing here in Sweden, but in a good way! ;) Atm we are backstage getting ready for our concert here in Hässleholm and eating some what we in Sweden call räkmacka. More concerts coming up in Sweden too, next one in Ludvika on Monday the 21st of November. Check it out!

Falun! (it’s supposed to be said with an accent but you can’t hear it in writing) Anyway. We’ve had a bit of a break now for a week or so, at least from concerts, although everyone is busy with their own stuff of course. And there is more to come! Tomorrow we travel down to Germany and Bonn, which should be nice. I’ll try to post some pics from there. Meanwhile, this is how it might look when you are driving from Gävle to Falun in the sunset. We’re home again, in a slightly colder and ”autumny” country. We had a really great time in Asia, that we’ll never forget, but the old say is still true, that there is no place like home ;) Right now we’re on our way to a concert in the middle west of Sweden, always something to do ;) Have a nice weekend everybody! /Malin

The last stop on our trip through Asia is Singapore and we are loving it even after just one night ;-) Tomorrow we have our concert and then some free time before we head back to the cold, dark of Sweden. As you may have noticed we have internet access again and boy does it feel good to be able to see what is going on again. Above is a view of downtown Singapore by night. /Lukas

New people. New tastes. New part of the world! Now we have been here a couple of days and we are starting to get used to it, although some of our stomachs are still riding rollercoasters. But we are having an awesome time and experiencing all sorts of different things. We will try to get some more posts up soon ;) /Luke

Here we are in Hong Kong, half way around the world. It’s crazy to think that it is so easy to travel so far, so fast. Plan ride was alright, difficult to sleep in the seats. Especially for Joel, the tall one. Soon boarding the plane to Taipei, Taiwan. Here is a pic of Amanda, Malin & me in the airport. I will try to post a lot from Taiwan so you can see what we are up to.

We have a lot of concerts and exciting travels coming up, with start at Kulturwald- Festival in Deggendorf, Germany this weekend. And as we said this Saturday at our rehearsal after having two weeks off, now we really long for something to happen, a trip to a new place, meeting new people or just something that can make the grey everyday more exciting ;-)

Here are some of the places that we will visit this autumn:

Until now we have not been having so many concerts here in Sweden, but mostly in Germany, and that’s a result of the “Choir of the year”- award that we got this spring. So now we are having some Jazz concerts in the north of Sweden between the 21 and 25 of September. It feels so good to finally have some concerts at home, and we are really looking forward to it. The cities that we´ll visit is: Storuman, Vilhelmina, Dorotea,  Åsele & Lycksele

In May 2009 we had some concerts in Vasa, Finland at a Choir Festival, and there we met some wonderful, friendly and talented men from Belgium. They are singing in a vocal group called Septem Viri, and last year they asked us if we wanted to sing at “Stemwork Festival”, a festival that they are arranging. And we just couldn’t say no ;-) So the first of October we´re going down to Torhout, Belgium to have a concert, and meeting the lovely guys that we haven’t seen for a long time now, and hopefully we´ll find the time to eat the mussels that they been talking about ;-)

Now to a thing that still feels unreal… Every trip that  we do seems to be better than the other. It wasn´t that long since we were in Canada, our best experience as a group ever! And I think it´s going to be hard to beat that trip for a long time in many ways, but maybe the Asian tour that we´re going to do in October may be in the same league ;-) We will have concerts in Taiwan, China and Singapore within a period of two weeks, and I bet you´ll be hearing a lot of it here in the future.
